Summer Glow

I am a pretty pasty, so when summer comes I like to get as dark as I can. I have tried a few different tanning oils and I will review my two favorite.

Banana Boat deep Tanning Oil SPF 4 is hands down my favorite. You are really able to see the results  quickly. You have to be careful because it is SPF 4 so you need to make sure you re-apply a few times so you don't get burnt. I was able to get a lot of color from it in a short amount of time. The picture below shows the before and after using this tanning oil  for 20 minutes each side for about 5 days.
Pros: Great color, cheaper than other tanning oils/self-tanners, sold at a lot of stores, and it only takes a short amount of time to see color.
Cons: Clogs pores (using this caused some pimples on my shoulders and back), because it is oil when you go into the pool it tends to come off and leave some spots in the pool, and it is sometimes hard to spray legs and back because of the spray top.

Coppertone Tanning DRY Oil is my second favorite. I use this to help maintain my tan more than to achieve my tan. I get a higher SPF because I am trying to maintain my tan.

Pros: Easy to apply, no mess, keeps color, doesn't leave spots on bathing suits, doesn't clog your pores, good coverage, sold at a lot of stores, and relatively affordable.
Cons: You don't see a lot of color change (but I do use a higher SPF than the other oil), it runs out pretty fast, you may feel a little sticky, and because it isn't oil my skin gets very dry.

When it comes to tanning the most important thing is to make sure you use some form of SPF!! Although the sun's rays make our skin look nice and dark they are HARMFUL . So make sure you are protected with SPF, sunglasses, and/or hat.  Your beautiful skin will thank you in the future :)

My New Go-To Look

New Everyday Look Using Urban Decay's Naked 3

  • So I started off with my eyelid primer ( I use MAC's painterly pot)
  • I then took Nooner and put that focusing on my crease and upwards
  • I then took Mugshot and put that on my eyelid concentrating on the middle of my lid.
  • After I used Darkside on the outer-corner and then took it 2/3 of the way in my crease
  • I used Nooner again just to blend it together
  • Finally I used strange on the inner corner of my eye and my brow bone
  •  WHALA! easy, simple, nice, everyday look :)

I started with M.A.C Painterly  paint pot for my eyelid primer

I used Nooner on my crease

I then used Limit just above my crease

I then used Darkside on my lid

I then used Liar as a transition color from my lid to my crease. I also used Strange as my eyebrow highlight
